7 At Home Date Ideas for Valentines, Galentines or Self Love

Posted by Kayleigh Fisher on

The season of love is upon us, with Valentine's Day and Galentine's Day just around the corner we have dreamt up some fabulous at home date ideas if you can’t, or just don’t want to get out of the house.

Whether you’re in a relationship with someone else, dating yourself or looking for girls night in plans with your besties - these are all adaptable and perfect for getting the love flowing.

1. Cook something out of the ordinary

You don’t need to book a table at the fanciest restaurant in town to feel like you’ve been wined and dined. For the confident cooks - try finding some gourmet inspiration to whip up, but if that seems like a disaster waiting to happen, why not find out if your favourite restaurant is delivering ‘make at home’ kits to take the pressure off.

Cooking is a beautiful way to spend intentional time together or with yourself, the delicious food is an added bonus!

2. Campout!

Pop up a tent or blanket fort in your lounge to create your own little campout experience. You’ll instantly be transported to a giggly, playful state of mind where adventure and snuggles are all that can be considered. To make it really unique, hang fairy lights for a warm glow, pack a picnic to snack on, fill flasks with hot chocolate and toast s'mores on a fire (or cooker!). Get your friends involved wherever they are with a video call!

3. Paint Party

Get the canvases at the ready, this is art therapy baby! It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned creative or never picked up a paint brush before. Get a bottle of bubbles out, and let your imagination flow. You could paint portraits of each other, follow along with a YouTube tutorial or just see what happens when you start brushing. This is a super fun, no pressure way to connect with yourself, with others and have a laugh along the way.

4. At Home Spa

If you can master this, then you’re pretty much made for life. This is all about tranquillity and relaxation, so dim the lights, light the candles and take a deep breath. It’s up to you to customise your treatment list but date nights seem a perfect opportunity for couples massages, singles facemasks and girls night manipedi’s. We’d highly recommend ending the spa session with something from our newest self love gift box to wind down. Bath or shower, you decide.

5. Travel The World

Turn your lounge into a French bistro, take a flight over Niagara falls using YouTube, transport yourself to an après ski lodge in the Italian alps - the world really is your oyster when you let your imagination run wild.

6. Write Love Letters

Put some smooth music on, lower the lights and spend time writing each other (or yourself) a love letter. Take a moment to privately and permanently capture your feelings for one another then share what you’ve written. You might want to read them out loud to each other, or simply swap letters, curl up on the couch and get all emosh.

7. Get your birth chart mapped

Birth charts can open up all sorts of interesting perspectives on yourself and others, getting to know each other on a deeper level, it’ll probably even highlight your astrological compatibility if you’re doing this with a partner! Getting these mapped out could make for a lifetime of questions, compassion and closeness.
