What we should have really called this blog is the Holiday Season Thrive Guide, because it’s about how to totally flourish and love every minute rather than get weighed down with stress and pressure. ‘tis the season after all!

So if you’re prone to over giving and finding yourself burnt out come new years eve, we’ve pulled together some of our best big sister advice to keep you feeling fabulously festive throughout. Here we go!

To be blunt, we mean just say no when something doesn’t work for you darlings. It doesn’t matter how big or small, you might be saying no to hosting for another year, agreeing a budget for spending or simply just not going to the pub so you can get snuggled up with a film and hot chocolate instead. Don’t feel guilty, this is your holiday too.

treat yourself anti diet cultureRelaxxxxxx, throw away the shame and the negative self talk (for good but especially now) and just let yourself genuinely enjoy the festive feasting. Your worth is far beyond what you weigh, so it doesn’t matter if you gain a few pounds, you’re still going to be absolutely gorgeous. Celebrate your heart out baby!

This won't be the first time you’ve heard this suggestion we’re sure, but the festive season is a totally perfect opportunity to put the phone down for a few days and really surrender to soaking up the memories being made with your nearest and dearest. What you have is perfect, stop yourself from comparing it to others.

As we said, this is a time of giving - but that can be downright exhausting can’t it? So as part of those boundaries we were talking about, make sure one of them is setting time aside to give back to yourself! This might be having a long soak in the bath (obvs our go to!), reading a few chapters of your book, doing some yoga - anything! But this is your ultimate key to thriving this Christmas.

write to your loved ones
This year is a weird one we know, lots of us will be adapting traditions and having smaller gatherings. If you’re missing some of your usual yuletide tribe try writing them a letter or cute card! It’s a beaut way to spend time honouring your own emotions whilst getting to send some real, genuine, juicy love their way. Plus, we’re all sick of zoom calls now aren’t we?

balanced diet for christmas Chocolate advent for breakfast? Yes please! But don’t forget to nourish your body from the inside out this month. Try to squeeze some vitamin rich foods alongside the fizz and roast potatoes. You’re mind, body and soul will thank you for it!

It’s going to be super easy to try and rush out the end of this year with everything that has made 2020. But try not to. Take a step back and reflect on this year with a new lens, you’ve made it this far, so there must have been sparks of joy and laughter in there. Make note of each and every one, say a huge thank you for them and see them return tenfold next year.
